About Us
20 Years of Fight Chix
Fight Chix started in 2006 with a late night, an oversized energy drink and a rerun of the UFC.
Elisabeth and Jake Nuesser were newly married. Jake was a lifelong martial artist working as a designer. Elisabeth was a talented stylist from a family of small-business entrepreneurs. Watching the fights that night, Elisabeth said: "I love this sport, but there's nothing for women to wear. I don't want to wear blood and skulls." Jake replied, "Let's start our own clothing line."
That cold February night, Elisabeth came up with the name. A few days later Jake designed the logo and built the website, and Fight Chix was born.
Here before it was popular
We were making apparel for women in MMA years before women's fights headlined major cards. Over two decades we've worked with and sponsored athletes across the UFC, Bellator, Strikeforce, the WEC and Invicta FC. That list includes Ronda Rousey, former UFC champion Miesha Tate, Michelle Waterson, Felice Herrig, Jeff Curran, Keith Hackney, Dan LaSavage and Invicta founder Shannon Knapp, plus many more. In 2010, fans nominated Fight Chix for Best MMA Lifestyle Brand at the World MMA Awards. Meet our athletes.
More than MMA
Fight Chix grew up alongside the women who wear it. Today we make gear for jiu-jitsu, no-gi, strength training, yoga and recovery days, from rash guards and spats in every belt color to our Yogi Chix line, led by Elisabeth, a certified yoga therapist. We also collaborate with fighter-artists like Savannah Em, whose original designs, including our Tomoe Gozen series, are some of our favorites.
Strong. Sexy. Still fighting.
Our mission hasn't changed in 20 years: to help women, and everyone who trains alongside them, reach their full potential. Life throws challenges at all of us, and how we face them is what defines us. Fight Chix wants to be there for every round.
Read the Fight Chix Journal for weekly training, recovery, breathwork and stories from women in the sport, or join the crew for 20% off your first order.
